The OBV Trainee Instructor Program is a training program designed for final-year university/college students, recent graduates, and those who have graduated for a few years, to become outdoor instructors for Outward Bound Vietnam. Trainee instructors will participate in outdoor education programs, receive risk management training, and develop a range of technical (hard) and facilitation (soft) skills to conduct safe experiential outdoor learning activities for youth.

1️⃣ Role of an Outward Bound Vietnam Instructor

• Become a member of the instructor team, working in a collaborative environment to deliver safe and inspiring courses.
• Take on various roles in guiding experiential courses in the natural environment for youth learners, such as instructor, coordinator, facilitator, and mentor.
• Collaborate in program development and suggest engaging activities that align with course objectives, such as teamwork, communication skills, and personal values.
• Conduct course openings and closures for OBV programs.
• Provide technical support for activities such as rock climbing, kayaking, and other activities requiring support staff and necessary resources.
• Develop personal skills and competencies.
• Ensure proper storage and care of safety equipment, reporting any damages to the responsible personnel.
• Swimming ability and good physical fitness are advantages.
• Proficiency in both English and Vietnamese is a plus.
